Swathi Siva

Director/Virtual and In-person Piano Teacher

When I started learning the piano at 10 years old, I was excited to learn a new skill and develop a fun hobby. As I began to explore more about piano, music, and theory, I discovered my passion to teach. To me, music is more than a hobby, it is an essential part of my life. I believe that each person connects with music on different levels, and through the piano classes, I hope to motivate and encourage that connection and creativity.

Through Trinity College London, I completed a Certification in Music Theory. I am trained mostly in Classical music; however, I am also interested in and have practiced other music styles. I believe there is no substitution for practice and so I continue to play and build on my skills in piano. I also majored in Psychology at University of Maryland University College, and now I work as a Behavior Therapist in Applied Behavior Analysis at Alliance Pediatrics. I have taught piano in the past as a hobby, and am excited to transform that into a more professional approach.

I have an individualized approach with each student that brings great results as I believe that learning should be fun and pressure-free. To find out more about my approach, the types of courses I offer or my background, please get in touch and I’ll be happy to give you more information.

Thanushri Srikantha

Virtual Piano Teacher

I have been playing the piano for 8 years and it's been one of the more rewarding experiences of my life. I love how music connects people and is something everyone can connect to.

Virtual Piano Teacher

I have learned classical piano for 13 years. I participated in hymns, AMTA's, and recitals. It was nerve racking and a lot of work, but it always payed off in the end. We focused a lot on hand posture and mastering inversions and arpeggios and such so we could develop our own ways of learning songs. What I love about music is that you can put aside all your worries and be completely immersed in it. Initially, when I was like 10, my parents had to force me to go to class. Now, it's a skill I'm proud to have and can do to relax and brag to myself about when times are tough. I love to play songs that I hear on the radio by ear on the piano. It's just something to help me get away. I am also interested in potentially working in music therapy or incorporating music therapy in my career field.

One of my greatest passions in life is music; the ability to create beautiful sounds allows us to express our deepest emotions. It is unique to each of us, and I strive to awaken the inner musician in those that I teach and interact with! My experience in piano covers 10+ years of technical skills, music theory, and composition/improvisation. I also play guitar and sing in an honors school choir. I am excited to meet each of you, and to grow in our music skills together.
